Cooper's lead in the race has narrowed since the murder of Iryna Zarutska on public transportation by a repeat criminal.

The effort is focused on preventing the governor from forming future task forces accused of making recommendations that are soft on crime.

"What the hell was he doing riding the train, and walking the streets? Criminals like this need to be LOCKED UP," Trump wrote.
